French Knot Frustration

Have you ever been so frustrated you just want to cry? Well, I am having the darndest time trying to create a French Knot. I am also trying to get the hang of this blogging thing and posted a request for help on my own blog. LOL Well, hopefully I can create these lil' buggers and make them on my handmade pin cushions. I'll have to take the same advice I give my 2 and 3 year old daughters. "If at first you don't succeed, try try and try again." I'll keep you posted on my progress. Ellen

Briefly, this is how it is done - Tie a knot in your thread, push your needle from the back to the front of you fabric, pull taut, use left thumb to hold thread on fabric, insert needle under thread and wrap once, insert needle back in fabric near where it came out, use left thumb to control thread and pull excess thread to back, not hard but firmly - never more than one wrap but as many thread as you want - I really should do a tutorial - hope this helps!

Hi, Ellen, I'm Holly! Bless your heart! My mom showed me how to do a french knot when I was a little girl but I haven't done one in years. I wonder if there is a tutorial on Youtube?

Hang in there, girl!

Amy, I am so excited that you came to visit my blog. Thanx for the compliment. There isn't much to my blog yet but as time allows, I hope to make it pretty and add lots of pictures and information about me. Ellen

Holly, Thank you for visiting my blog. I am such a newbie and am alittle slow. I hope to overcome this French Knot. I should pray that God give me the talent to get it. Check back...I will be putting up some of my pin cushions soon. Ellen
