Vintage Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Photos

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a wonderful time atou my in-laws! I truly love spending time with family. That is all that it is about! I thought I would post some vintage pictures of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I thought they were fascinating!
Many Blessings, Ellen
Here is a balloon picture from 1938, including the 120' Sea Serpent.

In 1927 the first balloons appeared in the parade. Tony Sarg designs the first Felix the Cat, the Dragon, Elephant, and a Toy Soldier helium filled balloons.

1938 Uncle Same (and Serpant photos found via ziegfeldgirl)

(1940 Superman balloon found here*)

(1959 Popeye balloon discovered via Irish Elk *)
