GO PINK GIVEAWAY~Breast Cancer Awareness~CLOSED

NOW CLOSED! THANK YOU. Welcome to my very first Giveaway. I decided to have one this month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. As I have previously posted, I have been effected by cancer. I had an aunt die from breast cancer, another aunt died from ovarian cancer, and my husband had a cancerous kidney removed and is now a cancer survivor. So I just wanted to do something to express my gratitude for my husbands life and remember the wonderful women my aunts were. Thank you for sharing this with me.
Now on to the good stuff. All you have to do to enter the giveaway is leave a comment plus your email address. It would be nice if you either share how you have been impacted by breast cancer, words of inspiration, prayers for those who are battling or have lost loved ones, or a funny story. That is it. Doesn't have to be great in detail.
So...I was going to have one giveaway but decided to break it up into 3 GIVEAWAY PRIZES!!! So you have a chance to win one of three. I will run this all week and it will end next PINK SATURDAY. I will write down all your lovely names. Audrey, Jane, and Dan will each pull someones name. I will post the winners Sunday, October 19th. Then I will contact you for your mailing address.
I am looking forward to reading your posts. Have fun.
Lots of Hugs, Ellen
First Prize: Rose the Pretty Pink Kitty Pin Cushion.

Second Prize: Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach. Plus a petal pink bath pillow.

Third Prize: A fluffy Goldie clutch, tic tacs and blueberry chapstick.

Thank you to Bev at How Sweet The Sound for hosting PINK SATURDAY. Make sure to check out other bloggers who post their pink pretties. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/09/pink-saturday---september-13.html?cid=130530330#comments

Hi Ellen... What a wonderful thing your doing... As you know I am a breast cancer survivor and it really didn't change my life TO MUCH! I have always been a live for today and enjoy life as much as you can because you never know what life has in store for you... but it was a shock with no cancer in my immediate family and always being healthy I had no clue this would happen... So now I can not stess enough to other women how important it is to reserch what you can do to help prevent(as best you can) and checkups...

Thanks again
Hugs,
Donna

Hello Ellen, Love the give away items. How sweet of you to host this giveaway. I have been lucky in that my health and that of my families has been good. No cancer is present in my immediately family. I did have a co-worker that was diagnosed with lung cancer and quickly spread. She was only 42 y/o and passed away within 8 mos. of being diagnosed. Thanks for helping and your support to breast cancer awareness month.

Hi Ellen~
I know it isn't breast cancer but,my Mother died of pancreatic cancer when I was 22.I was adopted as a baby and lost 2 dads by 5 years of age and my Mom to a very painful cancer. My best childhood friend just lost her hubby (30 years) to Gallbladder cancer. He lived 6 weeks after diagnosis. She is so very sad. Her sister is a breast cancer survivor and that makes me very grateful. hope soon all cancer is curable. Or irradicated.

Hi,
WOW what a great giveaway and what a good way to just celebrate your husband survival and remember your aunt! When I was pregnant with Christian (my first son), they did a papsmear and told me that I had precancourous cells in my cervix. I was sooooooooooo scared! They even had to remove some tissue to see how bad it was. The doctor said that in about 10 years I could develop cancer! I was only 20...Imagine me thinking oh my gosh. Im going to have a baby and I could get cancer in 10 years and maybe not even see my son go to college! It was scary! I prayed and prayed and asked for healing! It didnt go away. Then when I found out I was pregnant with my second son I just thought...oh great now I have to do a pap and see that I still have pre cancerous cells. I prayed that night and told God, if you heal me. I will tell everyone I come across. The next day I went into the doctors office and they did a pap. I went home and waited for my next app. When I went in the nurse said...Oh by the way....your pre cancourous cells went away. Its gone!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you JESUS!!!!

Thanks for doing this! Its nice for us woman to come together and remember what life is about, that cancer does effect lots of people, that we need to be strong and pack together!!!

Hi Ellen,
What an awesome giveaway. I too am a breast cancer survivor, but more than that, I feel I am a LIFE SURVIVOR. Every step of the way thru my life, I have had to overcome difficulty, I am sometimes embarrassed to say I am a cancer survivor, when in fact, MOST PEOPLE ARE SURVIVORS of some HUGE thing that has happened in their life. What about people who have lost loved ones, They too, in my eyes are SURVIVORS, as they have had to go on living. What about those who have gone thru a divorce, lost their home, bankrupcy or any other type of loss. I lost my breasts, but gained so much more. I am a survivor of so many other things, cancer changed me in a way that I will no longer wait and think about doing something, I am from now on, just going to do it.
You can read my blog as I documented my entire journey, even to the point that I wanted to die and not go on. I documented with REAL PICTURES, my entire process of a double radical mastectomy all the way to the reconstructive procedures.
Yes and No, cancer has changed me, I just hope I am a better person for it. Many a days I asked God WHY, why me, why did I get to live and my Dad had to die just 10 months before of cancer. I now know, from the 1000's, I am NOT KIDDING, the 1000's of emails and letters from people, both men and women, who have let me know how much they appreciated a true, honest, uplifting, postive journey of cancer I provided for them, it became clear to me, why I got breast cancer. It was to help those out there who needed to see, first hand, what goes on.
WHEW!!! I think I am done, I just wanted to let you know what cancer meant to me.
Hugs and Love My Friend,
Amy (Mom to the Four Sisters and a SURVIVOR of SO MUCH)

Thank you for this post. I have not been touched by breast cancer, but my husband died of cancer in 2005 leaving behind five children, with two still being at home and quite young. Cancer is horrible, but I must say God has seen us through. I would love for cancer to be gone from the face of the earth.
